EMPLOYER NOMINATION SCHEME

(Subclass 186)

This is a visa enabling employers to nominate the applicant for a permanent visa. It is a two step process. Firstly, nomination by a business lawfully operating in Australia and then the visa application. Applicants can be a skilled overseas worker or a skilled worker presently living and working in Australia on a temporary visa. 

  • Apply onshore or offshore

  • Can include family

  • Qualification + 3 years relevant work experience

  • Skills assessment or must have worked for nominating employer for 2-3 years while holding subclass 457/482 visa

  • Competent English

  • Usually must be under 45 years of age (exemptions may apply, speak to us)

SKILLED EMPLOYER SPONSORED REGIONAL (PROVISIONAL)

(Subclass 494)

This is a temporary visa for skilled workers nominated by an employer to fill a skill shortage in a designated regional area of Australia. It is valid for 5 years and the holder can apply for permanent residence after 3 years from time of grant. 

  • Apply onshore or offshore

  • Can include family

  • 3 years relevant work experience

  • Skills assessment

  • Under 45 years of age

  • Competent English

TEMPORARY SKILL SHORTAGE

(Subclass 482)

This is a temporary visa which has replaced the subclass 457 enabling the holder to work and live in Australia up to 4 years, dependent on occupation. It is a three step process: sponsorship by an employer who is approved as a Standard Business Sponsor, nomination by the employer once sponsorship is approved and the visa application.

  • Can include family

  • Qualification + 2 years relevant work experience

  • Skills assessment required for certain occupations

  • Meet English requirement - functional/competent dependent on occupation
